When Dennis McCormack was born about 1764 in Virginia, his father, Micajah “Cager” McCormack, was 25 and his mother, Frances “Franny” Anderson, was 21.

Personal Property Inventory and Appraisal of estate sale of Dennis McCormack, deceased–a few of the household and farm items and farm tools with some to widow Polly. It’s unknown what happened to Mary (Polly) after his death in about 1833.

The oldest son William had already migrated to Kentucky by 1830, however the youngest child, Derecy remained in Virginia and married in 1837.  Derecy’s marriage was witnessed by her brother Jeremiah.  Jeremiah was on the 1840 census in Monroe County Virgina, near where Derecy was married.  Jeremiah also migrated to Kentucky and died there.  It does seem that Jeremiah was standing in for his parents and can be presumed both were deceased by the time of her marriage.
