Emily Jane Carlisle was born in Virginia about 1750 in Augusta County Virginia to Robert Carlisle, from Ireland, who settled in Bullpasture, east side of Indian Draft, and Nancy.
Emily married Henry Jones as his second wife about 1775 in Highland area of Virginia. They had eleven children but I only have nine names. It’s entirely possible that two of them did not reach adulthood. The eldest child was Margaret Jones and this is how I descend. Emily would die and Henry would marry again but she would be the only mother of his children. Since Henry married a third time in 1802, I assume Emily died around 1800.
While little is known about Emily she had to have been a hardy women to live on this wilderness front. Sláinte to Emily!
