Ancestor 173 Mary Mallow

Mary Mallow was born 9 March 1746 in Berks, Pennsylvania to Johann Michael Mallow and A. Margretha X. The baptism record for Mary Mallow (Anna Maria Mallo in the German language record transcribed into English) from the Berks County Church Records, Vo. 1, p. 32 is the cited source.

In 1751, Mary was captured by Shawnee indians at age 6, and walked from the Shenandoah Valley, Virginia to Chillicothe, Ohio, area on foot at that young age. She grew up at the village until French fur traders arranged for return to  Virginia at age 15.

25 May 1765 in Brandywine, Pendleton, Virginia, Mary Mallow and Jacob Heavner married and they had ten children: Mary; Nicholas; Margaret; Jacob; Adam; John; Henry; Daniel; Michael; and Samuel.

Mary died on 04 Dec 1804 in Brandywine, Pendleton, Virginia (now West Virginia).
